Baghsar Lake (Urdu: باغ سر جھیل) is a lake situated at 975 m above sea level within the Samahni Valley of Bhimber District in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The lake is roughly half a kilometer long and overlooks the Bandala Valley. The lake is a popular tourist destination.
Many neighborhood and migratory birds, particularly geese and ducks, inhabit the lake. The lake is a habitat for water lilies, and the encompassing hills are protected by cheerh, pine bushes, and lily plants.
The area has several archaeological stays considering the fact that Bhimber fell in the path of Mughal emperors who from time to time visited the Kashmir valley. The Baghsar Fort is located at 3353 toes above sea stage. Mughal Emperor Jahangir died on his way return from Kashmir near Sarai Sababad in 1627 AD. To preserve his body, the entrails were eliminated and buried right here, and the body turned into transported to Lahore later.
This four-story shape of granite has played vital roles in history during the instances of Ahmed Shah Abdali, Ranjit Singh, and Gulab Singh. It is stated that the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, on his manner return from the Kashmir Valley, fell unwell and in the long run died on this fortress.
